After a substantial and invigorating breakfast, it’s time to saddle up. First, cycle along the western bank of the river towards the fjord. Enjoy the fresh sea air and the sight of passing cruise liners as well as the hustle and bustle of the submarine shipyard on the opposite side of the fjord. Listen to the sound of the waves. You can get a delicious ice cream or a small refreshment, for example, in the “Seebar” directly on the Kiellinie promenade, where you can enjoy the splendid view of the water and the passing clouds directly on a jetty.
Along the naval port with its breathtaking ships, the route takes you in the direction of the Kiel Canal. Prepare to be impressed by one of the largest locks in the world during an engaging tour of the lock complex. If you want to ride through some parks and the city itself on the way back to the hotel, turn your back on the water and drive inland. Here you can discover some inviting cafés and restaurants and make a few more snack stops.
Now that you have quite a few kilometres on the clock, you can put your legs up or drop contentedly into your cosy bed. The next day has more interesting tours lined up for you.
