Lübeck, Queen of the Hanseatic League

Since May 2015, explorers young and old have been able to embark on a journey through history at the European Hansemuseum. The museum illustrates the story of the rise and fall of the Hanseatic League so vividly that it will make the hearts of all adventurers beat faster.

Let the enactments and state-of-the-art museum technology take you on an emotional journey through time. From the award-winning new museum building with its roof terrace, you can also enjoy a unique view over the Trave river. The new building nestles elegantly against the historic castle monastery. With its vault paintings, it is one of the most important monastery complexes in northern Germany.

The museum is also an excellent starting point for a day out in Lübeck. The medieval city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers numerous other attractions.
