One of the event highlights in Münster is the harbour festival, which takes place once a year. Concerts and sporting activities with a diverse children's and family program take place for three days.
The popular zoo in Münster owes its name to the covered "all-weather walkways" that protect against rain and sun. The entrance fee includes the walk-in animal houses, the BioCity, which is about species protection, and the Westphalian Horse Museum.
