The Bremen Town Musicians are turning 200! Visit the “Animal Revolt – 200 Years of the Bremen Town Musicians in Art, Kitsch and Society” exhibition at the Kunsthalle Bremen art museum from 23. March to 1. September or celebrate in style with the whole city at the fun-packed birthday party from 3. to 7. July 2019.

Experience a very special kind of theatrical evening on the Melcherswiese meadow in the Bürgerpark. From 21. to 25. August 2019, the bremer shakespeare company will once again move its stage into the open air and present famous dramas of William Shakespeare. The grand family event boasts a colourful programme packed full of exciting things to see and do. A varied range of musical attractions, street performers, children’s activities, street food and maritime crafts attracts visitors to the Weserdeich embankment and promises to be a “meeting for generations”.
Ever since 1996, the Schaufenster Fischereihafen is transformed into a large open-air cinema once a year. Besides the 180 m² screen, the varied opening programme also attracts around 4,000 visitors to the event. You can experience the unusual outdoor cinema atmosphere free of charge on 2. and 3. August. Opening programme starts 9.00 pm/ film approx. 10.00 pm.
Be sure to save the date now. The exciting meeting of windjammers, sailors and landlubbers. For five whole days, everything will revolve around tall ships. A total of more than 270 ships with around 3,500 crew members will take part. Some 1.2 million visitors are expected at the quays and in the city. You should not miss out this unique spectacle!

The highlight of the celebrations surrounding the naval town’s 150th anniversary will be the hosting of the 36th Day of Lower Saxony with a varied programme of activities. The theme is “Water” and it is all around – for example in the Great Harbour and in the city centre, on the south-facing beach and the Bontekai, which together form the “Maritime Mile” packed with attractions. Among other things you can have a look behind the scenes of a tall sailing ship or join a sailing trip.
The oldest traditional sailing regatta on the German North Sea coast will take place from 27. to 29. September all around the main harbour. In addition to the regatta on Saturday, every year there is a colourful supporting programme with a quayside flea market, culinary delicacies, music and activities for children. Especially recommended are the aerial fireworks at the beginning of the Wilhelmshaven Sailing Cup and the arrival of the sailing boats through the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge.
2019 is an extraordinary year – Wilhelmshaven is celebrating its 150th anniversary and our hotel its 10th anniversary. Founded in 1986, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival is one of the largest classical music festivals in the world. From 6. July until 1. September 2019 international artists will performe at impressive places. The focus of the concerts is on classical music, but other genres such as pop, jazz, electro, theatre, comedy and readings are also offered.

The famous Brahms Festival, at which lecturers and students of the Lübeck Academy of Music perform together, has been held since 1992, always in spring. The festival honours the works of Johannes Brahms (1833–1897) and other composers of his time. From 3. to 12. May 2019, you can enjoy symphony concerts, chamber music and solo evenings to a high standard.

In keeping with the first words of the song “I’m a dreamer”, his current tour is all about dreaming. On 18. July, Michael Schulte can be seen live in the Meerkabarett club on Sylt. The concert starts at 8.00 pm.
