Ein ‚Jä-du-li-ä Ju-huu‘ zu vorgerückter Stunde bringt selbst Party-Muffel gut drauf.“ The music most likely to get people in the party mood in the “Alm- hütte” is pop music and après-ski hits; part-time Alpine enthusiast Mirko Busemann can sing and sway along to them all. The “Alm- hütte” also features great live acts: Last year, to celebrate the start of the season in what is known as the “Almauftrieb”, or ascent to the pastures, the Almrausch Duo danced among the tables with an accordion and drinking toasts. Another time, three Alpine horn players performed on 16-foot-long instruments, which meant that the tables had to be moved aside before they played. On 4th November this year, the “Almhütte” season will be opened by the popular “Trio Royal” from Bremen, with their three-part, down-to-earth swing and pop interpretations. Mr Busemann can highly recom- mend all the acts for private events with an Alpine theme – and he himself hopes to put on even more of a show in the future, as he’s currently learning the “Schuhplattlern”, a type of Bavarian folk dance. “In the Almhütte, we’re open to all kinds of fun,” said the jolly 26-year-old before adding almost shyly, “including flirting!” If the situation allows, Mr Busemann charms female guests and pours them sweet hazelnut liqueur. His biggest rival here is trainee Florian Riederer, a Bavarian through and through. It doesn’t take long before the smartphones are whipped out for a selfie with the two guys. “Not every waiter feels at home in this kind of setup,” Mr Busemann told us. “Their first day in Bavarian folk costume is always a culture shock: Some of them blossom in their new role and reinvent themselves; others prefer to stick to their Hanseatic reticence.” After his first Almhütte season, it took Busemann a while before he could reconnect to North German hotel life. After three months of partying, the first thing he did at the end of January was take a holiday, together with his entire team. Can you guess where they went? To the Alps, of course – where Florian Riederer introduced his North German colleagues to his home in Bavaria. From there, Mirko Busemann travelled on to Egypt – he loves contrast. With playful nonchalance, he slips from “lederhosen” to a suit and back, from a corporate management gala to a folk pop hits party. He takes his good mood and authenticity with him wherever he goes. “Of course I adapt to my environment,” he said, “but the high standard of service at our hotel always stays the same. In the Alpine Cabin, it just looks completely different. A ‘Yod-el-ay-he-hoo’ at a late hour puts even the most gloomy partygoers in a good mood.” Fortsetzung: Jä-du-li-ä ju-huu!!!
