On 1 st July, we will be expanding our Severin*s Hotels & Resorts portfolio with the addition of another premium property through the acquisition of the Öschberghof in Donaueschingen. Drei weltoffene Jahrzehnte unter Bremer Himmel „ törn 25/26 I ATLANTIC‑HOTELS.DE e s war ein ganz normaler Tag im Hotel“, berichtet Nele Grauenhorst, die dem Haus seit dem Eröffnungsjahr ver- bunden ist und heute als Direktorin das Full-Service- 4-Sterne-Hotel am Bremer Airport leitet. „Zumindest dachten wir das. Bis das Telefon klingelte …“. Es meldete sich die Ansprechpartnerin einer Reederei und erkundigte sich, ob es spontan Platz für 200 Personen zu Kaffee und Kuchen gäbe. Selbstverständlich ist das ATLANTIC Hotel Airport darauf ausge- richtet, mit seinen acht Veranstaltungsräumen bis zu 250 Gästen Platz zu bieten. Ebenso ist das Panorama-Restaurant BLIXX mit spektakulärem Blick auf das Rollfeld exklusiv buchbar. Allerdings kann eine spontane Bewirtung von 200 Personen durchaus anspruchsvoll werden. „Und es wurde noch sportlicher“, schmun- zelt Nele Grauenhorst, „denn die Gäste sollten schon innerhalb einer Stunde bei uns eintreffen ....“ Nach kurzer Absprache mit dem Küchen- und Serviceteam galt: Herausforderung angenommen! Schnell stand ein Team parat, um den Kuchen zu organisieren. Die innenstadtnahe Lage des Hotels war für das Vorhaben ein echter Pluspunkt. Mit diszipliniertem Chaos, Improvisation und perfektem Teamwork der 57 Mitarbeitenden aus 25 Ländern und einer Menge Kuchen- und Tortenstücken gelang es, die Gäste glücklich zu machen. Der Ausblick auf das Rollfeld des Flughafens und das herzliche Team des Restaurants BLIXX begeisterten die Runde so sehr, dass die Zusammenkunft auf ein spontanes Abendessen ausgeweitet wurde. An diesem Abend sind wohl alle müde, aber sehr zufrieden ins Bett gefallen, manche „Kuchengäste“ sogar unter dem Foto des original Bremer Himmels an ihrer Zimmerdecke. Denn der Vorteil, im ATLANTIC Hotel Airport zu feiern, ob spontan oder mit sorgfältiger Vorbereitung durch das Team des Veranstal- tungsverkaufs, ist: Die Zimmer im Aviation-Style sind immer nur eine Aufzugfahrt entfernt! After a quick meeting with the kitchen and service team, “It was a completely normal day,” recalled Nele Grauenhorst, who has been at the hotel since the year it opened and is now manager of the full-service 4-star hotel at Bremen Airport. “Or at least that’s what we thought. Until the phone rang...” It was a lady from a shipping company asking if we could accommodate 200 guests for coffee and cake at short notice. Of course, the ATLANTIC Hotel Airport is well equipped for such enquiries with its eight function rooms for up to 250 guests. It is also possible to book the BLIXX panorama restaurant with its spectacular views of the runway for private events. However, catering for 200 guests at short notice is not without its challenges. “And this time it was even more demanding,” said Nele Grauenhorst with a grin, “because these guests were due to arrive within the hour!” the response was: challenge accepted! A team was quickly assembled to organise the cakes. The hotel’s location close to the city centre proved to be a real asset. teamwork among the 57 employees from 25 countries and a great many slices of cake and gateau, we were able to make sure the guests were happy. In fact, they were so taken with the view of the airport’s runway and the warm hospitality of the team in the BLIXX restaurant that the afternoon gathering turned into a spontaneous evening meal in the hotel. That night, everybody went to bed tired but very satisfied – some of the “cake guests” even under the photo of the original Bremen sky in their hotel rooms. After all, the advantage of hosting an event at the ATLANTIC Hotel Airport – be it spontaneously or with careful preparation by the event sales team – is that the rooms in aviation style are always just a quick lift ride away! Das fünfjährige Jubiläum steht 2026 unter dem Motto „5 Jahre – 5 Sinne, 1 Augenblick“. W.: The island is so popular with many people for a whole host of different reasons – there is something for everyone here, whether they are looking for culture, the tranquillity of the north, sporting activities or gourmet experiences. The many local businesses and the island’s unique natural surroundings contribute to this special atmosphere. I am proud to represent Severin*s both on the island and beyond. Would you mind sharing your favourite place(s) on the island with our readers? M. W.: My favourite places change with the seasons. However, I can definitely recommend going for a morning bike ride or run from Keitum towards Morsum along the cliffs, standing on the beach between Kampen and List with a westerly wind blowing in from the sea and gazing out at the waves or taking an autumn stroll as the leaves fall around you and enjoying a cup of tea with a slice of Frisian cream cake to warm up again afterwards.
