Cultural highlight: Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival

From Glücksburg to Glückstadt, from Heide to Hasselburg and right up to Hamburg; from Sønderborg to Schenefeld: the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival is one of the largest surface festivals on earth. Not only does it cover the almost 16,000 square kilometres of Schleswig-Holstein, but also Hamburg, the south of Denmark and the north of Lower Saxony. Be it splendid mansions, thatched barns, historical cowsheds and horse stables, chic manors, picturesque churches, enchanted castle parks or industrial plant premises – no matter how remote, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival transforms every corner into an international concert stage.

From 1 July until 27 August 2017, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival 2017 will be dedicating a comprehensive retrospective to the French composer Maurice Ravel.

The programme for 2017 will be published in February 2017.
