Did you know that the custom of having a St. Martin’s goose on 11 November dates back to the 4th century?
Legend has it that the people insisted that Martin of Tours be ordained bishop. Martin himself considered himself unworthy of such a high office and hid in a goose pen. However, the geese chattered so loudly in view of the visitor that Martin was found and could be ordained after all.
The beautiful tradition of the St. Martin’s goose dinner is also cultivated in the ATLANTIC Hotels. In the ATLANTIC Grand Hotel Bremen, our alto restaurant offers you a menu with pre-Christmas goose specialities. Look forward to a fine 3-course menu.
