The design of the ATLANTIC Grand Hotel Bremen is by the Bremen architects office Haslob, Kruse & Partner. The new building fills the space between the market square, Boettcherstrasse, and Schlachte boulevard on the Weser river. The façade harmonises with the existing buildings in the area. A classic modern interior design makes reference to Hanseatic lifestyle and architecture. Only natural materials like “muschelkalk” limestone, wood, and fabrics have been used to create rooms that are authentic and at the same time fascinating.
The building pit was a real treasure trove for Bremen's state archaeologists. The construction site had unearthed the wooden bank reinforcements of the “Balge”, a former branch of the Weser river. Wooden receptacles, bones, coins, tools, and wickerwork from the late Middle Ages were discovered here. The archaeological finds on Bredenplatz play an important role in the choice of art displayed in our hotel.
